Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

Evaluate patient monitoring findings by identifying and communicating abnormal parameters and applying appropriate protocols across different animal species.

demonstrate proficiency in preparing for, assisting in, and performing a range of medical and diagnostic procedures commonly performed in different animal species

demonstrate proficiency in preparing for and assisting in a range of surgical procedures commonly performed in different animal species

apply appropriate anaesthesia protocols and techniques for a range of common veterinary species, while monitoring vital signs and depth of anaesthesia under supervision of a veterinarian.
