Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

apply well-developed knowledge to plan the selection and preparation of surgical equipment for procedures commonly performed in veterinary medicine

demonstrate proficiency in the assessment, positioning, and preparation of patients for aseptic surgery

demonstrate proficiency in the communication of the importance of dental care across a range of common veterinary species and cultural contexts

formulate post-operative treatment plans and communicate post-operative instructions to a range of clients while engaging in reflective practice.
