Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

apply well-developed knowledge of wound healing practices to plan and execute treatment of wounds in common domestic species

apply knowledge to plan and administer first aid to injured or ill animals

demonstrate proficiency in assisting with common medical procedures

integrate and communicate across a range of cultural contexts treatment plans in an emergency setting while engaging in reflective practice.
