Unit description

This unit aims to develop core competency in pathology in veterinary practice. Students will apply their previous knowledge of the animal body, pathophysiology, clinical medicine and technical skills to perform the routine diagnostic gross pathological and clinicopathological tests/procedures in veterinary practice and interpret the results.

Unit content

This placement unit consists of three weeks of clinical placement in pathology for veterinary practice including:

Assisting and performing clinicopathological procedures

Assisting and performing gross pathology procedures

Adherence to biosecurity and safety protocols

Learning outcomes
