Unit description

This unit will introduce students to the principles of emergency and critical care, anaesthesia, and animal dentistry. Students will apply their knowledge and technical skills in practical training sessions to ensure capability prior to clinical placements .

Learning outcomes

apply knowledge of veterinary emergency and critical care principles for the management and treatment of animals in emergency and critical situations while engaging in reflective practice

demonstrate competency in applying veterinary anaesthesia principles through practical experiences and case-based learning

apply knowledge of dentistry principles to effectively assess and diagnose oral health issues in companion animals

apply knowledge of dentistry principles to effectively assess and diagnose oral health issues in horses.
