Unit description

This unit provides the essential foundational knowledge of the normal structure and function of the nervous, haematological, skin and immune systems. Students will study microscopic and gross anatomy and will learn about the normal physiological processes across a range of species. This will provide them with the ability to recognise the normal animal body.

Module 2. Diagnostic evaluation of the nervous, haematological, skin and immune systems

Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

apply knowledge of the structure and function of the central, peripheral and autonomic nervous systems in animal

demonstrate reflective practice to apply knowledge of the nervous, immune, integumentary and haematological systems in animal species to the clinical setting

apply knowledge of the structure and function of the integumentary system in animals

apply knowledge of the immune and haematological systems to describe in detail their structure and function in animals
