Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

apply knowledge of reproductive physiology and pharmacology to implement breeding programs in common domestic species

apply knowledge of reproduction protocols and procedures to optimize breeding outcomes and genetic improvement for different species encountered in veterinary practice

apply knowledge of diagnostics and genetic technology to design treatment and disease control protocols in a veterinary clinical setting

demonstrate reflective practice in applying knowledge of veterinary genetics and breeding to the veterinary clinical setting.
