Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

demonstrate knowledge of the cruise industry, the cruise ship and the key managerial roles

identify and analyse the unique characteristics of the cruise industry and their impact on the environment, the tourism industry, staff and their careers, and the guest experience

demonstrate the capability to conceive, plan and propose an initiative to improve environmental, guest and staff outcomes on a cruise ship

demonstrate the knowledge and skills to reflect upon the challenges of developing and maintaining a sustainable and profitable cruise industry.
