Enrolment information
Students must enrol prior to Week 1. This unit provides intensive workshops which begin on day 1 of teaching and assessment aligned with the Early Childhood Placement.
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
analyse the Australian and global contexts of preschool educational contexts in terms of provision of quality, management and the regulatory environment
understand and apply theoretical and practical perspectives of pedagogy for pre-schoolers’ learning
develop a professional philosophy to teach preschooler with a focus on diversity, inclusion and supporting children’s pro-social competencies
demonstrate the ability to observe, document and assess in an early childhood educational program for preschoolers
