Unit Snapshot

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

demonstrate an understanding of and proficiency in the mathematical concepts and techniques relevant to advanced mathematics teaching within a school context

demonstrate an understanding of current mathematical knowledge as well the historical development of selected important mathematical concepts

analyse real-world problems through the use of the mathematical concepts and techniques relevant to advanced mathematics.

communicate mathematical ideas, processes and results effectively at different levels of formality, ensuring students develop their literacy and numeracy skills to prepare them for their teaching professions
