Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
understand the relationship between people and their environment
explain discourses and constructions of mental distress, acknowledging the diverse lived experiences of people who live with mental distress and their families and friends
explain the potential and scope of social work practice in building resilience and facilitating recovery
demonstrate an understanding of how social work with individuals, groups and communities responds effectively to health and disability, particularly with respect to mental health
