    This unit contains Work Integrated Learning (WIL) that requires students to meet mandatory fit to practice obligations prior to attending. Failure to comply by the fit to practice deadline will result in the cancellation of your WIL. Full details are available at www.scu.edu.au/health/work-integrated-learning This unit involves an internship in the sport, health or fitness industry. To equip students for placement they must have completed a minimum of two years full-time or equivalent study in a relevant degree in the Faculty of Health.


Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

practically apply exercise science knowledge and skills in a variety of professional learning and work settings, including Telehealth and group exercise

choose and apply a variety of verbal and non-verbal communication methods appropriate to the client and/or population, carers and other health and exercise professionals

identify risks and apply appropriate risk management strategies to the professional practice of exercise science

practice in accordance with ethically relevant policies, legislation and regulations that apply to exercise science settings including privacy, consent and record keeping
