This unit includes a one-week compulsory residential at the Southern Cross University Coffs Harbour campus in the week commencing 19 June 2023. Students who cannot attend the residential should not enrol in this unit. This unit contains professional experience learning that requires students to meet mandatory compliance requirements prior to attending. Failure to comply by the compliance deadline may result in failure of the unit. Full details are available at www.scu.edu.au/healthplacements.
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
apply foundational skills required to conduct psychological interviews and assessments
apply foundational skills to analyse, interpret and report information to develop case formulations, including how to manage risk
demonstrate and critically reflect on effective interpersonal and interprofessional communication skills, cultural responsivity, and ethical and professional practice, with relevant stakeholders
demonstrate understanding of the foundational skills required for the delivery and evaluation of evidence-based psychological interventions
