Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

develop culturally responsive psychological treatment plans in collaboration with the client considering social and cultural background, and the management of risk

conduct professional interviews and assessments, and synthesise information from multiple sources, including assessment of risk, to select evidence-based approaches to intervention for psychological and developmental disorders

critically analyse literature to support continued learning and evidence-based skill acquisition in the development and delivery of brief interventions and more complex psychotherapeutic interventions, including the management of risk

develop psychologically appropriate goals and a clear plan to evaluate behaviour change or symptom reduction
