Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

differentiate between signs of psychological and developmental disorders and developmentally typical behaviour considering social and cultural background

critique assessment and classification systems for psychological and developmental disorders and symptom manifestation across developmental stages

demonstrate standardised psychological test administration, interpretation and communication of assessment results with caregivers and other health professionals using appropriate language

identify signs that children and adolescents are at risk and in need of protection and take appropriate action in accordance with ethical and legal requirements
