Unit description

Introduces key topics in psychology using a combination of historical psychological experiments and the latest research techniques. The unit focuses on how the brain receives and processes information and supports students to develop their thinking on questions such as: Is what we perceive ‘real’? How do we learn? What makes us conscious? What happens when we sleep? How do psychedelic drugs affect us?

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit.
