Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
classify and critique common foot and ankle procedures and associated evidence base
describe the issues pertaining to patient selection for surgery
implement knowledge of theatre protocol and sterilisation through practical applications
critique pre/peri and post-operative care of the patient undergoing foot surgery
evaluate and communicate the medico-legal requirements of surgical intervention
apply knowledge of foot and ankle anatomy in relation to surgical decision making
