Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

analyse epidemiological data using statistical tools and software, drawing meaningful conclusions and insights from datasets

differentiate between different measures of disease frequency and association, evaluating their strengths and limitations for specific epidemiological investigations

construct and defend causal arguments, illustrating a deep understanding of causal relationships in epidemiology

critique health policy proposals and intervention strategies using epidemiological evidence, identifying potential strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement
