Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

determine appropriate actions to be taken in the management of a deteriorating patient

integrate principles of safe medication practice, including numeracy competency, in managing the acute patient condition

reflect on the role of the nurse in the context of the acute care setting

demonstrate a variety of effective nursing skills
