Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

demonstrate knowledge of Australian dispute resolution principles

evaluate the role of lawyers in Australian dispute resolution procedures

apply the principles and rules of equitable estoppel, restitution and equitable remedies

apply the principles and rules of remedies in private law, with emphasis on Torts, Contracts, and Australian consumer law

evaluate the principles related to Australian dispute resolution in the context of private claims and disputes based on the principles of private law
