Unit description

Addresses the fundamental principles governing commercial law. Focuses on the common law and statutory principles relating to commercial transactions, including personal property securities, the sale of goods, e-commerce, guarantees, agency and insurance. Also covers other related areas, including the law of partnerships, bankruptcy and bailment.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

demonstrate an understanding and evaluate the different issues of commercial law

demonstrate a high level of application of relevant commercial law and legal principles to issues that arise in scenarios of trade and commerce

demonstrate skills in legal research, critical analysis and the written presentation of research and argument.
