Unit description

This unit explores cultural frameworks for social interaction and learning, as well as Indigenous Knowledge frameworks for understanding relational practice, Respectful engagement and the re-conception of human interactions. Students will engage in yarning and yarning circle methods for Indigenous teaching, learning, problem identification and cultural affirmation during a compulsory 4-day residential workshop.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. engage others respectfully in yarning circles by applying concepts of Indigenous Knowledge and the rights of Country

apply Indigenous pedagogy, methodologies and methods to transmit knowledge, skills and ideas about relational practices effectively within environments

evaluate theoretical perspectives on yarning as a basis for individual growth and the re-conception of human interactions with Country
