Enrolment restriction
All students must have an academic supervisor from Southern Cross University prior to enrolling in this unit. Please submit a Unit Approval Request in MyEnrolment. You must also enrol in ENVR6007 Research Project II for the following term before you can be approved for this unit.
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
frame a research question, understanding aims and hypotheses
plan and design an experimental research project
critically evaluate and apply considerations needed when experimenting with live animals including applying animal ethics in research
select and apply appropriate statistics for analyses of specific datasets
organise and manage resource and time priorities and work as a team with fellow scholars
demonstrate the ability to interpret the results of field work/experiments with special consideration to the scientific literature.
