Unit description

This unit develops students’ capability to undertake a full scale engineering project. This Capstone Project unit represents the culmination of the Engineering degree, integrating the knowledge and skills gained throughout the course, including engineering principles, planning and design, communication, teamwork and management.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

identify and gather the key parameters and inputs required to commence an engineering project

apply systematic processes to formulate, design and manage, as a team, the undertaking of an engineering project

evaluate alternative design solutions of an engineering problem

effectively communicate outcomes from an engineering project to a range of stakeholders including diverse cultural and Indigenous perspectives.
