There will be a two day compulsory residential for ALL students that will be held on the Gold Coast campus. Students to provide own lunch/drink and accommodation arrangements. For further information please contact the Unit Assessor.
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
demonstrate a broad and critical understanding of the knowledge of the Year 11/12 Visual Arts syllabi, including theory, research and the development of resources that link to informed and effective teaching and learning across the relevant syllabi
develop engaging units of work and lesson plans related to selected theoretical and practical content of Year 11 and 12 Visual Arts syllabi, demonstrating familiarity with the required outcomes, objectives, key competencies, general capabilities, cross curriculum areas
apply current pedagogical theory, and critically engage with a range of contemporary perspectives and issues related to teaching Visual Arts at Year 11/12 level to develop effective teaching and learning strategies that encourage students with a diversity of learning needs, styles and cultural backgrounds
identify and critically examine assessment and reporting procedures and strategies in the context of the Year 11 and 12 internal and external assessment frameworks
