Enrolment information
This is a Capstone unit and ONLY completed in the final year of study. This unit requires students to undertake Community Engaged Learning.
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
critically engage with the concept of humans as nature, and how this understanding is reflected in their own environmental and sustainability experiences and philosophies
demonstrate knowledge and critical understanding of current environmental and sustainability issues and their implication for educational praxis
understand, evaluate, and synthesise environmental education pedagogies based on contemporary research, policy, and curriculum frameworks
plan, implement and evaluate environmental education learning experiences, applying a diversity of teaching and learning strategies
