Unit Snapshot

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

interpret, sort and visualise data to define and decompose real-world problems considering functional requirements and economic, environmental, social, technical and usability constraints

design the user experience of a digital system, generating, evaluating alternative designs and how they meet needs, are innovative, and take account of future risks and sustainability

design algorithms represented diagrammatically and in English, and trace algorithms to predict output for a given input and to identify errors

plan and manage projects that implement and modify programs with user interfaces involving branching, iteration and functions in a general-purpose programming language
