Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

gain a comprehensive understanding of the engineering fundamentals associated with the treatment of contaminated water

demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the options to treat water and wastewater based on engineering concepts

apply engineering principles to the design of water and waste water treatment plants to achieve relevant industry standards for water treatment

apply engineering solutions to the treatment of onsite waste water.
