Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

outline and categorise the principles of the Building Information Modelling systems

describe the critical steps and processes when implementing and applying building information modelling in construction projects

apply building information modelling software tools to simulate the processes of design and construction

demonstrate quality communication skills required in the construction industry.

apply parametric modelling and clash detection to optimise building designs and mitigate construction conflicts

self-evaluate conduct and performance as a professional engineer in contributing to the successful completion of a BIM project.
