Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
initiate, develop and express conceptual and material solutions to projects set across a range of painting media
demonstrate understanding of a variety of production methods used in the studio environment, have an appreciation of various painting mediums, their properties and uses, work in an experimental and sustainable manner.
apply interdisciplinary approaches within the painting field at both individual and collaborative levels
contextualise their work and its theoretical and material rationale within the field of contemporary painting practice

Prescribed learning resources
- No prescribed texts.
- Students are required to provide their own additional paper and painting equipment. A list of required materials will be provided at the beginning of session. Students must wear toe covered shoes in the V Block building at all times. Students are required to undertake an online studio health and safety module in order to be enrolled in this unit.
