Indigenous students

Southern Cross University community acknowledges we are located on the lands of the Bundjalung Nation and Gumbaynggirr Nations and pays respect to all Aboriginal people both past and present.

At Southern Cross University we are committed to Indigenous education and are proud of our achievements. The University has a maximum five star rating for Indigenous participation*.

The University offers a high level of support and personalised service for all of its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through Gnibi College of Indigenous Australian Peoples and the Indigenous Australian Student Services.

The University has a wide range of scholarships available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, including scholarships for academic achievement, relocation assistance and disadvantage.

Events

The Southern Cross University Indigenous Events Coordinating Committee (SCUIECC), is a reconciliation-in-action collaboration of Indigenous and non-Indigenous staff, students and community members.

We also engage in significant national Indigenous events such as National Sorry Day and celebrate NAIDOC Week with a family fun day.
