You are a domestic student if you are: an Australian or New Zealand citizen; an Australian permanent visa holder (including permanent humanitarian visa holders). Whether you live within or outside Australia, if you do not meet the above you are an international student. Depending on the course offered, international students may study offshore, online or in Australia on a student visa or other temporary Australian visas.

International students can search the variety of courses available to those wanting to apply for a visa to study in Australia, including English language Study abroad programs. We encourage everyone to explore our locations, the tailored student support we provide, our Access25 unified annual tuition fee, scholarships and our list of Education Agents who you may need to contact for assistance with application, depending on where you’re travelling from.

Our course pages also include details around any placements which may be required, professional recognition or accreditation and career opportunities upon graduation.

Southern Cross accepts direct applications online and through an education agent, however this will be dependent on your home country so check the list of countries that are required to apply through an Education Agent If you are able to apply direct, look for the Apply Online button under International students in the How to apply tab on the course information page.
Learn more about how to applyOnce submitted, your application will be acknowledged by Southern Cross or an approved Education Agent (depending on your path to application). If you are successful, detailed information will be provided to help you accept your offer. If unsuccessful, we may offer an alternative pathway to help get you closer to undertaking your future studies.
Are you under 18 years of age?
If you are under the age of 18 years, you can apply to the main campuses of SCU and The Hotel School, however your parent or guardian must sign your letter of offer on your behalf.
If you are an under 18 international student visa holder and will not be accompanied by a parent or guardian, they must request, in writing, that SCU accepts responsibility for your accommodation and welfare arrangements until your 18th birthday.
Your accommodation will be arranged for you with SCU’s approved accommodation provider, Homestay, and you must stay at this address until at least your 18th birthday.
You will have a student advisor appointed to meet with you every fortnight to manage your welfare and wellbeing until your 18th birthday. They will also assist you to access appropriate learning or personal support services if required.
You will be issued with a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) form once these arrangements have been agreed, together with your eCoE (Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment) for the purposes of applying for a visa.
You will be provided with clear, appropriate information before you arrive, during orientation and throughout your studies to ensure you are informed about your academic progress, support services available to you, and ways to keep yourself safe and manage an emergency.
