Applying the Southern Cross Model ISCM 4: Class Learning

This workshop focused on class learning and how to engage student learning using the Introducing the Southern Cross Model (ISCM) resources.

Collegial collaboration for calibration workshop

This workshop focused on using digital tools for collegial calibration and moderation meetings with the ultimate goal of enhancing student active learning. Participants used the new Zoom interactive whiteboards feature. (This workshop was recorded 1 pm – 2 pm, 20th July 2022).

Class Learning in Action - Strategies in Practice workshop

Following on from the Class Learning Roadshow workshops held in early February, the CTL team discussed strategies in practice with colleagues across SCU. In this workshop, colleagues shared the strategies used to encourage students to engage and participate in class, and the techniques used to manage online classes. (This workshop was recorded 1 pm – 2:00 pm, 13th April 2022).

Rubrics Workshop

The CTL team discussed what makes a good rubric. This workshop covered how to design a good rubric that works for your unit, and how to create and upload a Turnitin rubric. (This workshop was recorded 1 pm – 2:00 pm, 6th April 2022).

Effective Marking and Feedback Workshop

The CTL team to discuss the value of rubrics. In this workshop we will cover the difference between Turnitin and Blackboard rubrics, show how to mark using Turnitin, and practise marking an assessment using a Turnitin rubric. QuickMarks will be shown but not in detail as this will be covered in the next recording. (This workshop was recorded 1 pm – 2:00 pm, 15th March 2022)
