Applying to become an HEA Senior Fellow
Presenter: Polly Lai, Centre for Teaching and Learning
This workshop is right for you if you have:
- a good general understanding of HEA Fellowship and its benefits
- used the Fellowship Category Decision Tool to determine that Senior Fellow is the right category for you
- decided that you are ready to begin the process.
Senior Fellows are experienced staff with a “sustained record of leading or influencing the higher education practice of your colleagues or other peers that teach and/or support high quality learning” (Advance HE, 2024).
In this workshop, Dr Polly Lai will identify whether senior fellow is the correct category for you and then give you an overview of the resources and support available as you prepare your submission.
In this workshop, we will answer these questions:
- What is the usual timeline of the application process?
- What steps do I need to go through?
- Who will be my mentor?
- What evidence do I need to support my application?
- How do I reference the standards?
- What is the format of my application?
- Can I apply for other categories of Fellowship in the future?
