Graduate Outcomes Survey - Southern Cross University

Every year Southern Cross University participates in the Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS), a national survey of all recent graduates from Australian Higher Education providers. The GOS is conducted on behalf of the Australian Government, by the Social Research Centre (a leading research organisation), and feeds into the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching.

The purpose of the survey is to find out from recent graduates what type of work and/or further study they were engaged in a few months after completion of their course. Graduates are also asked for feedback on their satisfaction with the course just completed.

The survey is conducted twice per year in May and November.

The survey is made up of the following parts:

The Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS) (previously known as the Australian Graduate Survey (AGS)) looks at employment outcomes,
The Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) looks at student satisfaction with the course just completed, and
The Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PREQ) looks at student satisfaction for post-graduate by research students.

Results and reports from the annual surveys can be found on the QILT website. Prospective students can compare institutions and study areas based on this feedback on the COMPARED website.

A separate survey the 'GOS-L (Longitudinal)' formerly the 'Beyond Graduation Survey') follows up graduating students 3 years later. This survey provides data on medium term employment outcomes for graduates. National Reports from the GOS-L surveys can also be accessed from the QILT website.
