Indoor Heated Pool
- 33 metres long by 1.8 metres deep
- 8 lanes for lap swimming
- Suitable for water polo
The pool was designed to incorporate the best environmental sustainability practices:
- Water is sustainably collected using roof rainwater runoff and mechanical air handling plant condensation drainage. Much of the time, these are sufficient to and we do not require town water (subject to environmental and climatic conditions).
- 80% (~) of backwash water will be filtered and repurposed for on-site irrigation rather than disposed of as waste.
- An ultraviolet disinfection system was installed to provide disinfection to reduce the required chemicals. Significantly lowers the minimum level of chlorine required by NSW Health guidelines.
- Pool heating allows us to remain open through the winter months. We use a heat pump system; it is the most efficient heating method per unit of energy compared to common gas or electricity systems.
- Air handling is managed via a heat exchange system that normalises incoming air to the ambient in-room temperature.
- Power for pumps and lights are all supported by a Solar Panel system installed on the facility roof.
