Application process

Students wishing to apply for the Vice Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship are required to satisfy the following criteria:

  1. Apply to study an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree commencing in 2024 or 2025  at the Gold Coast, Lismore or Coffs Harbour campus, or online for International students on a non-student visa. Please note, for International students, this scholarship is only applicable to students paying international fees and does not include programs offered online through SCU Ventures, The Hotel School or Keypath Education.
  2. Exceed the minimum admission entry requirements of the University with consistently high academic performance. Assessment of academic excellence will be undertaken by the Southern Cross admissions team on application to Southern Cross University. 
  3. To maintain scholarship eligibility, students must pass all the requirements for all enrolled units in each Term. Students must be meeting the requirements of the program.
  4. Students must meet the attendance requirements of their program and visa conditions to remain eligible for the scholarship.
  5. Citizens or permanent residents of Australia or New Zealand are not eligible.

Decisions to offer a student a place on the Vice Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship will be determined against the following criteria:

  1. Candidate's previous academic history and other meritorious achievements may be considered part of the selection process.
  2. All other eligibility criteria must be met.
