CGC Civil Geotechnical Consultants, Australia’s first certified engineering social enterprise, will fund one new scholarship for Engineering and/or Science students in 2025 which will be paid to the recipient over two years of study.

How to apply

Applicants applying for the CGC Engineering Science Scholarship must:

  1. Be enrolled (full-time or part-time) in any Science or Engineering degree with Southern Cross University.
    * Preference will be given to Civil Engineering students who also meet the other criteria, however other Engineering and Science students are still encouraged to apply. 
  2. Demonstrate a form of disadvantage under the following: carer responsibilities, financial hardship, Indigenous Australians, Long-term medical condition/disability or ongoing effects of abuse and/or sole-parent responsibilities.

Applications will be evaluated on:

  1. Their personal introductory statement (100–200 words) which includes why they are applying for the scholarship, how it would benefit them and what they hope to achieve in the future through the completion of their degree. 
  2. Their personal response to the scholarship application questions in general — in particular statements related to hardship.
  3. Students that are interested in pursuing Geotechnical Engineering, Geology (or similar) as a branch of Civil Engineering post-graduation will be preferred.
  4. Students that are classed as residing in a regional or remote area or have re-located from a rural or remote location to study at Southern Cross University will be preferred.
