Global reputation confirmed with subject world rankings for Southern Cross

Southern Cross University continues to consolidate its global reputation, with impressive results in the 2023 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject.

The University is ranked in the top 300 (top 3%) of universities globally for Physical Sciences. The category encompasses a narrower field of subjects this year including mathematics and statistics, physics and astronomy, chemistry, geology, environmental, earth and marine sciences.

The University also performed strongly in the Life Sciences and Psychology categories (both top 4%) with solid results in Education and Social Sciences (top 5% for both), as well as Business and Economics along with Clinical and Health (both top 8%), maintaining its world rankings from the previous year.

Southern Cross is currently ranked 164th in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings.

Southern Cross results in the 2023 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject are:

  • Business and Economics: ranked 601–800
  • Clinical and Health: ranked 601–800
  • Education: ranked 401–500
  • Life Sciences: ranked 301–400
  • Physical Sciences: ranked 251–300
  • Psychology: ranked 301–400
  • Social Sciences: ranked 401–500
