Tackle your study questions with Southern Cross University

Teams of Southern Cross University Student Recruitment Officers and Student Ambassadors will visit high school students across Queensland and Northern New South Wales for the touring University Roadshows and Showcases that begin this month.

The NSW University Roadshows and Queensland-based Showcases offer a wealth of information to Year 12 students from multiple universities about courses, university life, accommodation, scholarships, career paths and pathways to university. Thousands of students from more than 50 schools take part.

As part of the annual tours, Southern Cross University will be visiting schools in Lower and Upper Mid North Coast NSW, New England and Namoi regions, Toowoomba, North West NSW, Tweed, Northern Rivers, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Lockyer District and Warwick region during February and March.

Southern Cross University Student Recruitment Officer Peter Marshall said making decisions on where and what to study can be daunting for young people, and university representatives would be there to give plenty of information, answer questions and help however they can.

“Deciding where to study is a big decision. It is a decision that will affect not only what course and subjects someone will take, but also the life they will lead, the friends they’ll make, and even the direction they take their careers further down the track,” Mr Marshall said.

“We want to give school students information about what is out there and what options they have. The students will learn more about courses, accommodation and career paths.

“We also want to make students aware that there are pathways into university study, even if their Year 12 results are not what they were hoping for.”

Southern Cross University will also take part in Career Expos this year including Gold Coast Careers Festival (May 2 – 3), VCE and Careers Expo in Melbourne (May 3 – 6), HSC and Careers Expo in Sydney (May 31 – June 3), Western Sydney Careers Expo (June 28 –July 1) and Tertiary Studies Expo Brisbane (July 21 – 22).
