Financially disadvantaged university students who are studying full-time at the Tweed Gold Coast campus of Southern Cross University in 2008 have until 5pm this Friday, January 25, to apply for a special financial hardship scholarship.

Established nationally in 1997, the Mick Young Scholarship Trust (MYST) provides annual scholarships for students in the fields of vocational training, education, science, literature, the arts and music.

The over-riding eligibility criteria for the scholarship are financial disadvantage, combined with motivation and commitment to furthering education and improving life circumstances.

There are no restrictions regarding age or educational qualifications and previous recipients are encouraged to re-apply. Scholarships are not available to SCU employees or their immediate families or associates.

A total of $5,000 is available to be shared among several students, but only those studying at the Tweed Gold Coast campus.

Applicants must complete the Mick Young Scholarship Trust 2008 Application Form.
For further information about the scholarship and the form please visit http://scu.edu.au/scholarships.

Or, contact the scholarships office by email scholarships@scu.edu.au or phone 02 6626 9607. Late applications will not be accepted.
