Southern Cross University invites Northern Rivers’ residents to join its students and staff for a fabulous day of fun at the 2008 SCU Race Day, this Saturday, May 3, at the Lismore Turf Club.
General admission is $6 at the gate and gates open at noon, with the first race starting at approximately 1pm.
Maree Walford, a second year Business in Tourism Management student, is this year’s ‘face of SCU Race Day’.
“I am thrilled to have the role,” Maree said. “It is great to be right in the thick of the action and to get a bird’s eye view of the racing industry which has such an important profile in both the areas of business and tourism, not just in Australia, but around the world.
“Plus it’s great fun to develop a few modeling skills to add to my portfolio.”
Students and staff can purchase $10 tickets at the Unibar on the Lismore campus, the Co-op Bookshop Coffee Cart at the Tweed Gold Coast campus and from the Coffs Harbour Student Association and Carina College at the Coffs Harbour campus - until sold out.
