Stacey Nugent is ready to kick up her heels and celebrate.

Not only has the Kyogle 23-year-old just graduated with a double degree -- a Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Laws -- but after five years of study at Southern Cross University (SCU) she can finally fulfil her dream of becoming a solicitor.

"I have had to put in a big effort and at times I wondered if I would ever finish but now I can really appreciate how worthwhile going to university has been," she said.

"I have a job in a law firm that specialises in family law, which is my passion and I hope to establish a career in this field."

Stacey said she was delighted with the encouragement, support and teaching excellence she received while studying at SCU.

Mid year admission information sessions for prospective students are being held at SCU's Lismore campus, in the campus central building near the Military Road entrance, next Wednesday, May 31, from 4pm – 8pm.

Staff will provide information on how to gain entry to university, course options, application processes, associated costs of university study and the types of support services available to students – particularly those who have been out of study for a while.

SCU is offering mid year enrolment in the majority of its courses to allow for greater flexibility for potential students, many of whom have to juggle work and family commitments.

There are a wide range of programs which can be studied by distance education or on-campus on a full-time or part-time basis.

Places are available in courses including arts, social science, music, media, education, law and justice, business, information technology and multimedia, tourism and hospitality, environmental science, exercise science and nutrition, naturopathy, nursing and psychology.
