Processing sea cucumbers: A training DVD for Pacific Island fishers
These training videos were made for Pacific Island artisanal fishers on methods for postharvest processing of sea cucumbers.
The goal of these videos is to help Pacific Island fishers to make better income from the sea cucumbers that they collect and reduce the wastage of potential income and food from these aquatic resources. The videos are an output of a research aid project, led by Dr Steven Purcell from Southern Cross University, funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR project FIS-2010-096), within the Department of Foreign Affairs, Australia. They were produced by Pasifika Communications for Southern Cross University, Australia, and its National Marine Science Centre. Support was provided by the Kiribati Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources Development, Tongan Ministry of Food Forests and Fisheries, and Partners in Community Development Fiji.
