Our research

Welcome to the Mental Health and Psychosocial Wellbeing (MHPW) theme. We undertake research of national and international significance across the spectrum of mental illness and holistic wellbeing, and the ecologies in which they are situated.

Our members focus on impactful research including:

  • Thriving, flourishing and positive mental health
  • Examining the impact of nature on mental health and mental wellbeing
  • Co-design and lived experience
  • Integrative approaches to mental health and wellbeing
  • Trauma and resilience
  • Community engaged initiatives such as social prescribing and wellbeing hubs
  • Rural and regional mental health and wellbeing

Our vision

We are committed to bringing together and supporting multidisciplinary teams to advance research programmatically through partnerships and collaborations that reduce the burden of poor mental health and enable Australians to mentally thrive and flourish.
