Graduation FAQs
The total direct cost of attending your graduation ceremony is $124.
This includes a $50 ceremony contribution fee plus $74 for academic dress hire.
Once you have fully satisfied the requirements of your course, you will be able to register for an upcoming graduation ceremony.
When completing placement/practical, the final report must be received and processed by your Faculty/College before you will be eligible to graduate.
It is important to note that the Graduation Office is unable to assist with any queries regarding your placement/practical. Please direct those enquiries directly to your Faculty/College.
Graduation tab will become available after you have fully satisfied the requirements for your course/award (generally this occurs after your final Session/Study Period grades official release date).
If you cannot see a graduation choice but believe you have now completed your award please contact our Student Administration Services Team:
Your complimentary academic transcript and Australian Higher Education Graduate Statement are sent within 20-25 working days of when you complete your award.
Incomplete or Not Available grades will delay your final academic transcript.
Testamurs (degree certificates) can only be released after an award is officially conferred (approved) by the University. All testamurs are held securely by the SCU Graduation Office awaiting instructions from each graduating student.
You can choose any of the following options in My Enrolment or by emailing studentgradinfo@scu.edu.au
- Mail: You can choose to receive your testamur by mail and it will be sent to you as soon as it has been conferred (awarded) by the University.
- Collect: Testamurs can be collected from the Graduation Office, Lismore Campus. Please email or call to arrange a suitable time during business hours for collection.
- Postpone: You can choose to postpone and attend a future ceremony.
A testamur (degree certificate) is a legal document and can only be released after an award has been conferred (approved) by the University. Your graduation choice will determine how you receive your testamur. Awards must be conferred before you can attend a ceremony.
To avoid delay please ensure your preferred address and phone number are updated in My Enrolment.
Testamurs will be sent by registered mail for domestic deliveries and by courier for all international addresses.
The Graduation Office is located at A Block, Lismore Campus (A2.37). You will be able to collect your testamur during business hours, after it is conferred (awarded) by the University.
You will need to provide photo identification before your testamur can be released. Please email studentgradinfo@scu.edu.au or phone 02 6620 3184 to arrange a suitable time to collect.
Yes. If you are unable to attend your allocated ceremony, you can choose to postpone your attendance until a future date.

As soon as you have found a ceremony you would like to attend, please email the Graduation Office at studentgradinfo@scu.edu.au so we can make the necessary arrangements.
An original certified copy of your Australian Higher Education Graduate Statement (AHEGS) will be forwarded with your final academic transcript. Visit www.scu.edu.au/ahegs for further information regarding AHEGS.
My eQuals was developed to give students, graduates, employers and third parties anytime, anywhere access to digitally certified testamurs, transcripts and AHEGS.
A digital copy of your transcript and AHEGS will be uploaded to My eQuals within 10 working days of completion of your award. A digital copy of your testamur will be uploaded to My eQuals the week after your award has been conferred (approved) by the University Council.
Sanctions will prevent the release of your final academic transcript, AHEGS and testamur. Please contact Student Administration Services for information about how to pay your sanction by phoning 1800 SC HELP / 1800 72 4357 or emailing enquiry@scu.edu.au.

Yes. Ceremony allocations are based on your study location or if studying online default to the next available ceremony.
You are more than welcome to attend any of our scheduled ceremonies at any of our locations as long as you let us know by the relevant registration deadline. A complete list of ceremony dates and registration deadlines can be found on the how to register page.
Please email studentgradinfo@scu.edu.au with the details of the ceremony you wish to attend so we can make the necessary arrangements.

No. Unfortunately, it's not possible to change the time of your graduation ceremony. Each Faculty/College/Cohort is allocated to a particular Ceremony time.

No. If you have missed the last day to register for an upcoming graduation you will need to email studentgradinfo@scu.edu.au and register for a later ceremony.
Graduation ceremony times and Faculty/College and cohort allocations will be available after the registration deadline has passed.
As soon as the ceremony time/s are available, all registered graduates will be advised by email, the details will be published on the Graduation website with the Everything you need to know about your Graduation booklet for your ceremony.
Following the registration deadline for your ceremony, a decision will be made about whether any additional guest tickets are available. If extra tickets are available, you will be able to purchase them for $20 each when you book and pay for your academic dress online.
The ceremony will be live streamed and a recording will be available on our website.

Yes, we are following all local health directions in relation to COVID-19 safety protocols.
Masks and hand sanitiser are provided and available at the information desk. If you are unwell, stay home.
Importantly, if graduates or guests are unwell, please do not attend the ceremony.
Graduates can postpone to a later ceremony and guests can view the ceremony via the livestream.
If staff deem that graduates or their guest/s are unwell on the day, they may not be allowed to take part in your ceremony.
