Special Consideration - Post Approval Actions for Unit Assessors

Client Services shall:

  1. Assess and approve the Special Consideration request.
  2. Student and UA will be automatically notified.

Unit Assessor shall:

  1. Adjust mark accordingly (in line with other assessments, if submitted by the student).

Unit Assessor shall:

  1. Determine extension so that the assessment is due following the student’s placement and incorporate sufficient preparation days, based on days impacted.
  2. Record new date and any instructional details (for example, time/location) in the solution. Student and UA will be automatically notified.
  3. If the extension is granted beyond the due date of the finalisation of grades for the teaching period, update the unit grade to an interim grade of Incomplete.
  4. Notify student of modified grade once determined.

  2. Determine extension (based on days impacted), limited to 7 days (Sessions), or 3 days (Terms), unless extenuating circumstances.
  3. Record new date in the solution. Student and UA will be automatically notified.

Unit Assessor shall:

  1. Mark exam once submitted (as per extension).
  2. If extension is granted beyond the due date of the finalisation of grades for the period, then update unit grade to interim grade of Incomplete.
  3. Notify student of modified grade once determined.

  2. Determine extension (based on days impacted), limited to 7 days (Sessions) or 3 days (Terms), unless extenuating circumstances apply.

Unit Assessor shall:

  1. Close the online quiz as per original due date and reopen for student with approved Special Consideration, to be completed on a specific pre-determined date. Alternatively, award a mark proportionate to other assessment items in the unit.
  2. If the extension is granted beyond the due date of the finalisation of grades for the teaching period, update the unit grade to an interim grade of Incomplete.
  3. Notify student of modified grade once determined.

  2. Record new date and any instructional details (for example, time/location) in the solution. Student will be automatically notified.
  3. If the extension is granted beyond the due date of the finalisation of grades for the teaching period, update the unit grade to an interim grade of Incomplete.
  4. Notify student of modified grade once determined.

    1. of ‘Special Examination’ if special exam held before due date of the finalisation of grades.
    2. of ‘Incomplete’ if special exam held after due date of the finalisation of grades.
  4. Communicate details of special exam to student.
