During his PhD, he visited the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for one academic year. He was a postdoctoral researcher for three years at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry (Germany).

His research is focused on aerosol-cloud interactions and the microphysics of clouds and precipitation. The research is based on in situ measurements from aircraft and sensors onboard environmental satellites. He has been leading or contributing to the publication of research papers with several research groups in Brazil, Germany, Israel etc.
