Biography
Amanda is an educational designer at Southern Cross University Center for Teaching and Learning. She has played a pivotal role in developing comprehensive eLearning courses, integrating advanced educational technology to enhance instructional design. Her expertise in course development has significantly contributed to enhancing veterinary epidemiology training programs, supporting early disease detection, and strengthening biosecurity measures.
One notable project was developing an eLearning module on rabies for the Queensland Government Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF), providing essential training to maintain Australia's rabies-free status. Amanda also contributed to a large-scale project funded by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), creating modules to improve veterinary epidemiology practices across Southeast Asia, equipping professionals with skills to prevent infectious diseases and avert potential global pandemics.
Additionally, Amanda worked on the ASEAN Regional Strengthening FMD Control in Southeast Asia project with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), funded by New Zealand. She developed eLearning modules on Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) and African Swine Fever (ASF), significantly improving emergency response procedures and advancing veterinary education in the region.
