Marlon Jones is an Educational Designer at the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), Southern Cross University (SCU). In this role, Marlon supports SCU's teaching staff to design and develop meaningful learning experiences.
With over 16 years of experience in the higher education and ELICOS sectors, Marlon has established himself as a skilled and innovative learning designer, academic leader, and educator. Holding a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education, an International Diploma in Language Teaching Management and a Bachelor of Arts, Marlon brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. His areas of specialisation encompass curriculum and assessment design, educational technology, academic management, and teacher training.
Marlon's research interests include cognitive neuroscience, educational psychology, and the impact of artificial intelligence on pedagogy. This research guides his work, elevating the quality of teaching and learning at SCU.
Before joining CTL, Marlon was the Director of Studies of Melbourne's largest ELICOS training provider and the recipient of multiple prestigious industry awards, including Victorian International Education Awards (VIEA) for Excellence in English Language Training (2014 & 2018), Education Provider of the Year (2015), and Excellence in Student Experience (2016).
Marlon firmly believes in the transformative power of education and is driven by a deep love of learning. He is a proud member of the LGBTQI+ community and a passionate advocate for social and environmental justice.
